Planning is under way for the 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival
The 46th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival is scheduled for March 16-18 in downtown Henderson, 200 S. Water St. Once again, proceeds from the event will be donated to St. Baldrick's. The Sons of Erin plan to host a head-shaving fundraiser for St. Baldrick's on March 17 following the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Members of the public are invited to join or donate to our team, or form their own teams.
We are now accepting applications for parade entries. This year's theme is Wearin' O' the Green, and trophies will be awarded for Best of Theme, Greenest, Prettiest and Most Original. The parade, which is one of the largest St. Patrick's Day parades in the United States, will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, along Water Street in downtown Henderson. There is a $50 entry fee.
The Sons of Erin is also accepting applications for food and merchandise vendors. Nonprofits are invited to apply, as well. Spaces are available in the Henderson Convention Center and the Henderson Events Plaza.
Sponsorship opportunities also are available. A variety of packages are available.

Our next meeting is at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at McMullan’s Irish Pub, 4650 W. Tropicana Ave., just west of The Orleans.

Members of the Southern Nevada Sons of Erin are eligible to join the Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union, which recently opened a branch at 8660 W. Cheyenne Ave.
