About usIn February 1966, 15 Irishmen met at Jay’s Place on West Charleston Boulevard to enjoy fellowship, Irish heritage and music. The conversations from that evening eventually would become the foundation for the Las Vegas Sons of Erin.
The intention of the founders was to promote camaraderie and Irish heritage and to help the less fortunate by espousing good charitable causes and civil projects. It also was agreed that the organization would remain nonsectarian and nonpolitical. That mission continues today.
Every year, the Sons of Erin plans a variety of social events to celebrate heritage and friendship. Our biggest event is the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Festival in downtown Henderson. The event includes one of the largest St. Patrick's Day parades in the United States, a carnival, beer garden, vendors and a variety of live entertainment. Proceeds from the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival are donated to a different charity every year.
Men and women 18 or older are invited to join the Sons of Erin. Annual dues are $30 per couple and $20 for individual membership. You do not have to be of Irish decent.
