Our charity partner
The Sons of Erin was founded with two goals: to celebrate Irish heritage and culture and to support a local children's charity.
For the second consecutive year, we are proud to partner with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which raises money to fight children's cancer.
Every year, thousands of people from across the Las Vegas Valley shave their heads to raise money and show support for kids with cancer. Since the first local event at McMullan's Irish Pub, more than $1 million has been raised, almost all of which is returned to help local cancer patients.
We are organizing a head-shaving event for March 17, 2012, at the St. Patrick's Day Festival at the Henderson Events Plaza. The Sons of Erin has formed a team and is seeking members and donations. Anyone who would like to form their own team is invited to do so.
In 2011, the Sons of Erin raised $5,000 for St. Baldrick's. Proceeds from the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival, which included our first head-shaving event, were donated to the cause. We were proud to have two St. Baldrick's kids, Thomas Ousman, left, and Austin Fitzgerald, right, serve as grand marshals at the parade.
